Anyway, back to Eleganza Yarns. I'm giving serious thought to taking the beginning spinning class, assuming I'm not flying south that day. And they've got a blog, too. They had some photos of the samples in their store Just Now in said blog, and one of them was this lovely:

I really like this sweater, and think it would be lovely to do. Plus, it's one of those fantabulous knit-sideways-all-at-once critters, which I've always wanted to do. And the lace pattern is the same as 'Section 2' of my LabCat Lace Scarf, so I know it won't be beyond my abilities.
I'm totally going to have to find an excuse to drive up to Frederick and check out this lovely store!
There are quite a number of places that rent wheels. Nearer to you, Springwater rents wheels. Gryphon has a steady supply of wheels to rent. I occasionally have a wheel to rent out, although I don't at the moment.
ReplyDeleteDiane, who teaches the spinning classes at Eleganza, is wonderful. I took the Intermediate spinning class about a year ago with her and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've also bought a couple mohair fleeces from her. And if you have any questions about weaving, she's a master weaver and tapestry-making-person.
ReplyDeleteWhen you rent the wheels, you take them home. Charges are by the week.
I <3 Eleganza. If you come up on a Sunday, they have Sunday Soujourns, which are free mini-project classes from 2-4. You supply needles and yarn, they supply patterns and help.
