The store opens in five days.

There is a LOT of work left, but I think it'll get done (or enough will that we'll be ok).

It's empty still, and probably opening in January, but it's mine!!

Hello, I'm sort of back, and I'm about to get my own yarn store!

Oh, man. I'm sorry everyone - I just noticed that I hadn't published any of the comments you've left for the last... yikes!! Six months! I'll be better about that, I promise!

Since I've kinda vanished the last few weeks (okay, most of September), let me tell you what's going on:

I'm opening a yarn store!!!!!!

I haven't got a lease in hand (but hopefully soon), and I do have a name - which I'll tell you all once I have the website up and running so you can check it out.

I've already decided that this year's NaNoNovel will be my adventures with starting up and opening a yarn store.

Just 20 rows from the edging, and it goes quickly because it's meant to be small!

Blergh!

It's Metro Yarn Crawl time. This basically means in the last two days I have knit maybe 6 rows on a shawl.

So, posting because Habitica, rather than because I have anything to show.

SilverSpun & Feel Good Yarns

Yesterday was the SilverSpun Workshop & Trunk Show at the store. 

I did workshop space set-up (remembered we had two tables!): 

Dorie (the organizer) and Laurie (the owner) from Feel Good Yarns did all the product set-up and ran the workshop.

At the workshop, we got little bags with 2 DPNs and two gloves, which we learned to transform into touch-screen gloves!

The trunk show went well, woohoo! I might, just possibly, have bought some yarn...

(It's Thera-gloves for my mum, don't tell her!)

Sweater Kickoff

We had the Year of Sweaters Kickoff Party at the store today. Pamela made a cute (and tasty) cake:

And someone put a Yoshi in the tree outside:

We didn't get as many people as we expected, though. So everyone that did come pretty much had their pick of the yarn we got in for it!

So, what's it like to work at a yarn store?

Working at a yarn store is, unsurprisingly, a LOT of fun. Plus, yarn!!
