Here's hoping it's a smashing success for all the shops!

Photoshare!
Random stuff on my phone from this week. Some is yarn related.
Habitica has Zombie Eggs, which grow into Zombie Egg Baskets. If you need a productivity app that's also fun, check out Habitica.com
We also got a new cotton/viscose blend...
... and that's enough of that for today.

New project - Cotton Cardi
Since it's almost Metro Yarn Crawl time, I figured I should start something with yarn I got last year.

TKGA/CGOA conference
Registration opens tomorrow. Looks like I'll be doing more crochet than knitting, and have at least one day off to explore.
Yay!

Spring Cleaning Pt 1
Bought "fix storage on the top of the fridge" stuff in December. Today was the day it finally happened - SO HAPPY!
Useful iApp for Knitters/Crocheters
I have tried a LOT of counters for my phone. I finally found one that does what I want. Here's the developers' site, as they can tell you all the bells and whistles better than I: http://counter.bluevine.net/category/app-development/
Here's a screenshot so you can find it in the App Store:
Seriously, this thing is wonderful and does EVERYTHING I want it to do. Highly reccomend!

Harper Shawl update
Got to the halfway point (more or less) of the Harper Shawl today. I decided to stop and weave in all the ends thus far, as there are a LOT of them. If I waited until it was done, it might never happen!

Color Affection
So, the store is doing a Color Affection KAL starting the 29th. Pam started hers last week, and found a bunch of helpful tips in the pattern comments on Ravelry.
I selected my yarn today (after an incredible amount of dithering):
It's Urban Girl Yarn merino fingering, in the Lizard, Lemonade & Gimger colorways.

Woodlawn Loot, Pt. 1
Went to see the 53rd Annual Woodlawn Needlework Exhibition and Sale today. The "sale" part is new, and it was nice to see people pricing their work appropriately (i.e., thousands of dollars for hundreds of hours of work).
Can't take photos, of course, but it's worth the trip, a lot of the pieces are stunning!!
Woodlawn means it was also the annual trip to In Stitches. I ended up getting four pieces, the first of which is a little Scottish sheep coaster kit:
I borrowed mom's thread minder while I was getting started:
Got most of the border done before bedtime. More tomorrow!

Uniquities Fiber Festival
Today was the Uniquities Fiber Festival, and I was able to go. Managed to keep from overdoing. My goal was some light blue Wild Hare Galaxy:
I also got some fun buttons:
Also found a nifty gadget (available in many colors). Mine is shiny copper:
It's going to go on the Harper Shawl, because as it is a pain when the stitches slide off.
Not sure what the blue sparkly yarn is for yet, but it will be lovely!

Kerchief is done!
Headscarf kerchief-thingy is done! One skein of Cascade Tangier and size 8 needles, made it up as I went.

Kerchief!
It's too warm for hats now, but I still want to not deal with my hair sometimes. So, as there was a single skein of Tangier in the all-the-colors colorway, I started to knit one:
I think I'm past the halfway point now. We'll see.
I should sleep now....

Past the Arm Holes
A bit more progress. The circle is still flat. I should be starting the back-and-forth after the collar soon.

More on the Circular Vest
I managed to get the center of the best to stay flat for a few more rounds:
I then carefully marked where the sleeves should go, made the openings with chain less foundation double-crochet (As fun as it sounds. Really.), and did a few more rows.
It wasn't even CLOSE to flat... so, basically everything I crocheted yesterday had to be frogged.
Let me tell you this: Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable HATES to be frogged. It's basically single-spun acrylic MOHAIR. It took less time to frog than to crochet on the first place - but only just barely.
Anyway, today, I managed to get a good, flat middle circle all the way out to the arm holes.
Tomorrow, after the sleeves, it can begin to ruffle a bit. But for now, it is flat.

Circularity
The Circular Vest class was today. We had the choice of basic double crochet on out, or to play with stuff.
I opted for "play with stuff", and am attempting a Viral Vest (some of the same motifs as the Virus Shawl). So far, so good!

Scarf Blocking
Just have two blocking squares to work with? Use both sides!
Elegant? Maybe not. But it works!
(Hopefully, the scarf will finally be dry tomorrow!)
